Membership with the Construction Association of Nova Scotia applies to any corporation or firm engaged in Nova Scotia in the business of manufacturing, supplying or contract tendering commercial, industrial or institutional construction.
Membership includes voting privileges, appointment to the Board of Directors of the Association, membership in industry sections of the Association and integrated membership in Canadian Construction Association.
Members have access to full tender documents for NS, NB, PE and NL on our website and in our Dartmouth plans room, including drawings, specifications, addenda, mandatory site meetings, email updates, etc.
Members can view low bids, plan takers lists and awards on projects in our database
Members receive discounts for our Continuing Educationcourses and CCA & CCDC Standard Contract Documents
Promotional opportunities are available to members through our printed NS Construction Guide and online membership directory

Membership Dues
Regular Membership
The membership fee for 2011/12 for full member companies is $1,440 plus HST (15% in Nova Scotia).
Associate Membership
Associate membership at CANS is restricted to those companies providing secondary products or services not directly related to actual construction. Representatives of associate member companies have access to the project bulletins and newsletters.
The membership fee for 2011/12 for associate member companies is $630 plus HST (15% in Nova Scotia).
Applications for membership are published in the CANS monthly newsletter, after which time they are presented to the Board of Directors for approval. Applications that are accompanied by payment receive CANS services until formal approval.

CANS Contracting Authorities
CANS is pleased to announce that it is extending several discounts and services to Contracting Authorities in the construction industry who have shown support for our association. If you are a Contracting Authority in the construction industry and are interested in receiving complimentary online access to discounts and services, please print and fill out the form below.
Convenient Online Access to Discounts: Individuals will be able to log on to the CANS website and access online discounts on CCDC & CCA documents, and Continuing Education Courses.
Valuable and Timely Information: Up-to-date information will be communicated by CANS through a quarterly newsletter. Users will remain on top of the latest regulatory issues, industry news, continuing education events and partnerships, standard documents updates, selected special events as well as Building Futures for Youth and 150 anniversary related activities.
CANS Directory: Participating Contracting Authorities will be displayed in our online directory. In addition, the annual Nova Scotia Construction Guide will be mailed out to your organization and will provide you with a valuable information resource.
