CANS encourages and welcomes individuals and companies to become involved in our organizations as volunteers.
Most of our decision making and event planning are volunteer based through standing committees and ad hoc groups.
The committees and groups contribute to the following:
policy development
membership evaluation and promotion
issues management
government relations
decision making such as bid depository council
special event and activity planning for members
Please contact the committee chairs listed below if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.

Developing Executives
The Developing Executives Group was formed several years ago. Its role is to create a network and identify development opportunities for members under the age of 35. The Developing Executives group also organizes social activities such as golf, curling and pool for its members.
The Developing Executives Group is represented on a number of CANS committees such as the Board of Directors, Membership Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee. To find out more information, please visit the Developing Executives Page.
Networking Opportunities
Let's get together!
Gatherings with colleagues where everyone shares a common business interest is an added bonus to your membership.
CANS provides a number of formal and informal networking opportunities through social events, information sessions and committee activities.
Each spring the CANS De-Icer provides a social opportunity where more then 1,500 members and guests get together for an evening of good food and good music.
In June more than 350 members participate in our annual golf tournament, followed later in the summer by our ball tournament in New Minas, Nova Scotia.
The month of October brings with it our Annual General Meeting. CANS members enjoy a weekend get-away where they exchange information about their industry experiences, share best practices and fellowship.
