Construction is booming in Cape Breton, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate your success with CANS. On May 28, join us as we kick off another busy season at the 2026 Spring Fling, one of the region’s signature industry events.

Connect with CANS members across Cape Breton, build new relationships with potential partners and suppliers, and enjoy an evening that showcases the strength and momentum of the construction sector. Each year, CANS Spring Fling brings the industry together for networking, great food and local entertainment.

This annual event also features an 18‑hole golf tournament, followed by dinner, entertainment and valuable networking opportunities — a full day designed to help you grow your connections while celebrating the industry’s achievements.

Registration Information

CANS Spring Fling offers two registration options, giving guests the flexibility to take part in the full day or join for the evening celebration. Attendees can register for the Spring Fling Golf Tournament and enjoy a day on the course before heading into the evening reception. Golf tournament and dinner reception registration include your green fee, golfer gift, a shared power cart, breakfast buffet, on-course lunch, and admission to the dinner reception.

For those who prefer to join later in the day, dinner reception-only registration is also available. This option includes access to the evening program, featuring dinner, trivia and live music—perfect for connecting with industry colleagues without hitting the greens.

Note: Guests must be 19+ to attend this event. This event is general seating.

Registration Pricing

Golf Tournament & Evening Reception
$399 + HST
Includes full-day access to the Spring Fling Golf Tournament, with green fees, shared power cart, breakfast buffet, on-course lunch, and admission to the evening dinner reception.

Evening Program Only
$199 + HST
Includes access to the evening reception featuring dinner, trivia and live music.

Agenda

  • Golfer breakfast: 7:30 – 9 a.m.
  • Golfer & sponsor check-in: 9 – 10 a.m.
  • Shotgun start: 10:15 a.m.
  • Doors open: 5 p.m.
  • Dinner: 6 p.m.
  • Entertainment: 8–10 p.m.
  • Last call: 9:30 p.m.
  • Event closes: 10 p.m.

Golfer Information

Rentals: If you require rental clubs, please arrange and pay through the golf course in advance of the tournament. Availability is limited and offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

Scoring: Team scorecards must be submitted to golf course staff. Please bring your completed scorecard to the pro shop within 20 minutes of finishing play. Scores not submitted within this timeframe will not be eligible for prizing.

Winners: Tournament winners will be announced at the evening reception. Make sure to dress your best — prizes will be awarded for the Best Dressed Team!

Attire tips: Golf attire is recommended, with soft‑spike footwear. Dress for changing weather conditions — the tournament runs rain or shine.

Food: A boxed lunch will be delivered to all golfers.

Alcohol: Any alcohol not purchased from the golf course will be confiscated.

Networking: Join us at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre for a delicious three-course meal, trivia, and musical entertainment by Cam Hollohan!

Evening Entertainment

Musician, Cam Hollohan

Cam is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Cape Breton. He has been playing music since his Mom put a guitar in his hands at the age of 12. Cam has a solid sound that spans many genres and does justice to them all.

Trivia Master, Louise Favaro

Prizes await the top teams, with exciting rewards up for grabs for the highest‑scoring groups.
