CCA Ready to Build with Liberal Government

Autodesk to phase out perpetual licenses in 2016

In 2016, Autodesk will be phasing out perpetual licenses (licenses you buy and own) of their CAD products and moving to a pay as you go model called “Desktop Subscription”.

Timeline:

January 31, 2016

Autodesk will stop selling perpetual licenses of individual products; meaning all products not found in suites. (Examples of the products affected by this:  AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Architecture, Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Revit MEP, etc.)

July 31, 2016
Autodesk will stop selling perpetual licenses of Suites (Examples of the products affected by this:  Building Design Suite, Infrastructure Design Suite, AutoCAD Design Suite, Plant Design Suite, Product Design Suite)
