CANS Board of Directors – Call for Nominations

Applications are due by Friday, May 3, 2024, at 4 p.m.

The Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) is governed by a voluntary industry-based board of directors. We are now accepting nominations to our board of directors. This year, we are seeking qualified individuals who ideally meet one or more of the following criteria, as determined by our governance matrix:

  • Are a member of an under-represented or diverse community;
  • Are based in rural NS, specifically the South Shore, Annapolis Valley and/or CBRM;
  • Possess a financial/accounting background;
  • Have experience with technology, IT transformation and AI;
  • Experience with government relations, governance, standards and practices, as well as procurement, are considered assets;
  • Are part of a member company or willing to become a member.

Additional criteria:

  • You have the time to actively participate;
  • You are passionate about construction, workforce development, innovation, industry education, etc.;
  • You can bring an objective perspective to the table that has your industry’s best interests at heart;
  • You support our vision and are committed to helping us achieve our aspirational goals as outlined in our Strategic Plan;
  • Board experience is an asset;
  • You are collaborative and demonstrate leadership through action;
  • If you are interested in rolling up your sleeves, getting involved and advancing the interests of our industry.
