Nothing beats the buzz in the air at an in-person event and we had a blast reconnecting with all who attended the CANS 2023 Spring Fling presented by Cape Breton Regional Municipality Regional Enterprise Network (REN) on Thursday, May 11, 2023!
This was CANS biggest Spring Fling yet with nearly 200 guests joining CANS for our golf tournament, networking dinner and awards presentation. Thank you to our hosts, The Lakes at Ben Eoin and their hardworking staff for their support throughout the day.
We were pleased to have Membertou Cultural Ambassador David Meuse, CBRM Mayor Amanda McDougall-Merrill as well as Kelly MacKinnon (Cape Breton Partnership) and Lefin Chacko (Lindsay Construction) as special guests and speakers, in addition to updates from Building Futures for Youth Lead Tanya Reddick and a welcome from CANS President and CEO Duncan Williams. Entertainment by the Andrew Doyle Band concluded the evening with some fun, Cape Breton music!

We were pleased to see the return of our Spring Fling golf tournament — and evidently so were you! We had 33 teams compete this year at The Lakes at Ben Eoin.
Congratulations to our tournament champions, Northern Contracting Limited 16A who took home first place! As well as an honourable mention to our runner’s up, Fire Stop Enterprises 8A.
