Nova Scotia is developing its first accessibility standard with the goal of addressing barriers to accessibility in buildings and outdoor spaces.
This public review will ensure Nova Scotians have opportunities to share feedback on the proposed standard work. The Accessibility Act requires the involvement of persons with disabilities, the public and private sectors, and other community members in the development of accessibility standards.
We ask that our members plan accordingly for this temporary break in CANS Services.
CANS staff will return to the office on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, with our regular business hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Effective 12:01am Aug 11, 2023, the Surcharge for self serve diesel fuel will be set at 40.0% for all TANS dispatched trucks paid by the tonne/kilometre, cubic metre/kilometre or per axle hourly rate. It is also in effect for all Contractors trucks, or TANS Trucks designated as contractor trucks, paid by the tonne/kilometre or cubic metre/kilometre.
