Building Code Adaptation sessions from CANS and CHBANS

In preparation for changes to Nova Scotia’s Building Code Regulations taking effect on April 1, 2025, the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Nova Scotia (CHBANS) partnered to deliver a province-wide training initiative.

This project provided industry professionals with free, expert-led education sessions to support their understanding of the upcoming regulatory changes and promote industry readiness.

This initiative reflects a shared commitment to building capacity within Nova Scotia’s construction sector, supporting compliance, and fostering professional development across the residential and ICI (industrial, commercial, and institutional) sectors.

What to Expect:
  • Sessions led by subject matter experts
  • A clear, side-by-side comparison of the 2015 and 2020 codes
  • Key insights into barrier-free design and energy code compliance

*Note: This training session is for educational purposes only and does not replace official building codes, regulations, or professional consultation. Always refer to the applicable codes and seek expert guidance for compliance.
