CANS 163rd Annual General Meeting

 

Industry leaders from across Nova Scotia gathered at Pier 21 on Tuesday, Oct. 7

CANS 163rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) was a great success! Delegates came together in our business session and annual general meeting, where they heard updates from Canadian Construction Association’s President Rod Gilbert. Delegates also heard from CANS Strategic Planning renewal, updates about the Association’s progress over the las year, and approved CANS 2025-2026 Board of Directors.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to retiring board members Allan MacIntosh,Dave MacGregor, and Kevin Cahill, for their dedication and leadership during their tenure on the CANS Board of Directors.

Congratulations to CANS’ 2025 Awards Recipients!

Once the business was out of the way, attendees gathered for a delicious dinner and to celebrate the recipients of several awards!

CANS presented several honours, including:

• Honorary Life Member Award, recognizing individuals whose leadership and service have strengthened CANS and the construction industry.
• Long-Term Member Awards for those reaching 50 years of membership.
• Bowman Awards for members marking 25 years of continuous membership.
• BFY Host Employer Awards, celebrating employers championing the next generation of construction talent.

The evening also marked the first annual CANS Industry Awards, honouring outstanding contributions in the following categories:

• Trailblazer Award: Celebrating Women in Construction
• Community Leader Award
• Leader in Safety Award
• Excellence in Innovation Award
• Champion in Education and Training Award
