CANS 2015 Delayed Payment Survey Results

Late payment practices are an important issue for Nova Scotia’s construction industry and CANS has been lobbying the provincial government to enact appropriate payment legislation that would establish minimum norms for payment schedules. In an effort to substantiate our assumptions, CANS surveyed members to solicit their feedback and help guide us on their behalf.

Harrietsfield wind power project OK’d with conditions

A three-turbine wind project near Harrietsfield, Halifax County, has received provincial environmental approval, with conditions. Environment Minister Randy Delorey gave the go-ahead to the Harrietsfield Williamswood wind farm on Tuesday. The 4.8-megawatt venture is being developed by Dartmouth-based Watts Wind 4 LP. Workplace Health & Safety Regulations update from the Department of Labour and Advanced Education

Over the past several months, the Department of  Labour and Advanced Education has been consulting with the public to consolidate and amend the Workplace Health & Safety Regulations.

Since the consultation launched in September 2014, LAE has received considerable feedback and has decided to completely re-think what regulatory changes are needed at this time.
