Get to Know Britney

When did you start working for CANS?

  • September 2008 (intern, MSVU work-term)
  • August 2009 (official start date as a full-time employee!)

What do you like about working at CANS?

I love working with a great team day in and day out, who are all dedicated to helping each other, so we can best serve our member companies. It’s a very supportive work environment. 

What is your favourite part of your workday?

Collaborating with colleagues to create meaningful experiences for our member companies, who are very passionate about this great industry. The team is very visionary, and I love helping turn the visions into reality. 

What sets CANS apart from your past jobs?

I am very grateful to work for a forward-thinking, strategic management team that invests in their employees, from continuing education opportunities, to always leading by example and encouraging each employee to become their absolute best.

How Britney Spends Her Spare-Time:

  • Mom of two young boys (what is spare time?!)
  • Being outdoors (Snowboarding, Running, Hiking, Camping, Kayaking, Soccer)
  • Painting (acrylic)

While Britney has been on maternity leave for the past year, you’ve likely met, as she’s attended almost all of CANS events since 2008!

  • Britney lead CANS Developing Executives Group (2008-2019)
  • Based in Cape Breton, you’d see Britney at Sydney Member Mixers.

Did you Know?

Britney has flown in a hot air balloon (in Arizona), and has participated in Mud Hero (Martock 2015)!
