The Province of Nova Scotia, in cooperation with the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (including Atlantic Concrete, the Nova Scotia Road Builders Association, Ocean Contractors, Dexel Developments, Lindsay Construction, and the Cement Association of Canada), has engaged the Dalhousie University Faculty of Engineering to do an independent third-party study of technologies to reduce the Greenhouse Gas emissions related to concrete construction.

On Friday, May 13, the 2022 CANS Home Depot Pro De-Icer kicked off in downtown Halifax at the Halifax Convention Centre. Nearly 1,600 attendees gathered for our first De-Icer in over two years. The evening was well worth the wait with exceptional fine dining, musical entertainment, and networking opportunities.

The Construction Association of Nova Scotia is pleased with the Port of Halifax’s notice of development for a new infill site at the south terminal. Captain Allan Gray, president and CEO of the Port of Halifax, said the new site will begin to accept pyritic slate from construction projects in downtown Halifax as early as June 2022.
